I first heard Paula Cole when she opened for Melissa Etheridge several years ago. The audience was waiting patiently for this person that most of us had never heard of. The stage was pitch black. Out of nowhere there was an EXTREMELY loud drumbeat. Paula emerged on stage wearing a silver dress with spaghetti straps and black combat boots. She was amazing! I sat through her set with my mouth open the whole time!! I hate to say it, but after Paula's performance, Melissa E. was a bit of a disappointment! I went out the next morning, as soon as the stores opened, to buy "Harbinger".
Ever since that show, I have been following her career very closely. I have seen every television interview and performance (that I've known about) and I have seen her a total of four times in concert. Her amazing talent is finally receiving the recognition it so deserves! Paula and her second CD "This Fire" were nominated for 7 Grammys this year! She won a grammy for 'Best New Artist'. Her third single, "Me", is now receiving a lot of airtime on radio stations everywhere. Also, her hit "I Don't Want To Wait" is the theme song for the show Dawson's Creek on WB. The show is now one of my favorites! Each week it features different artists like Paula Cole, Sarah McLachlan, Jann Arden, and Chantal Kreviasuk. Dawson's Creek airs at 9:00pm on Tuesday nights on WB. Check it out!!
